
Audio Authority has introduced the newest evolution of the White Lightning brand of ground power units, the SmartGPU.
Designed for a wide range of general aviation aircraft, from piston-powered to mid-size business jets, the SmartGPU will make its public debut on the new Piper M700 Fury at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2024.
The SmartGPU uses the aircraft’s external power receptacle to power avionics, external and interior lighting, flight control motors, hydraulics, ventilation, and other airframe accessories, according to company officials.
Initially, two 28V models of the SmartGPU will be offered:
- The 3,200 watt Model S28114, which provides up to 114 amperes of 28VDC power, is designed for turboprops and business jets
- The 1,500 watt Model 28054 provides all the same features and up to 54 amperes at 28VDC, is designed for piston powered aircraft
Both models come with output cables and input cord sets.
According to company officials, key features include:
- Utilizing Bluetooth and Wi-Fi technology, aircraft owners can remotely monitor and control the SmartGPU using a mobile app
- Equipped with a 4 inch display, the SmartGPU provides real-time digital output metering and operational information
- Built with scalability and longevity in mind, the SmartGPU is designed to adapt to future technological advancements
Pricing
The 3,200-watt unit will be available for $2,495. The 1,500-watt unit is priced at $1,595.
There are several cable options depending on power requirements, and a 10-amp integrated BatteryMINDer Maintenance Charger, which is priced at an additional $295.
The SmartGPU line will be available for order and shipping in Fall 2024.
