
Officials with TL Sport Aircraft report the company has two new aircraft in development: The Sirius Backcountry and Sirius Backcountry SE.
Focused on the growing market of remote, challenging destinations, these new aircraft are being designed, engineered, and manufactured by TL Sport Aircraft specifically for the North American market, according to officials with the Czech Republic-based company.
“The Sirius Backcountry will enable pilots to plan and execute missions that include cross-country flights,” company officials said. “The Sirius Backcountry SE will include all the features of the Backcountry with the high-performance capabilities of a STOL (Short Take Off and Landing) aircraft, thus allowing adventurous pilots the ability to get into challenging off airport destinations.”

Flight performance data of the Backcountry include:

- Up to 125 knot cruising speed
- 21,500 service ceiling
- 1,500-1,600 fpm climb out
- Max STOL takeoff performance sub 100 feet
- Normal operation 150 foot roll off
- Max STOL landing performance sub 200 feet
- Normal operation landing performance 300-foot landing
- Flight range of 600-700 nautical miles
Flight performance data for the Sirius Backcountry SE will be available in the near future, according to company officials.
The Sirius Backcountry and Backcountry SE are available to custom order, company officials noted.
