Tickets on sale for Green Mountain Aviation Field Days at KBTV

By General Aviation News Staff · August 15, 2024 · 1 Comment

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vermont — Tickets are on sale for Green Mountain Aviation Field Days, slated for Sept. 14-15, 2024, at Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport (KBTV).

Presented by the Vermont Aviators Association, Green Mountain Aviation (GMA) Field Days will celebrate the “Past, Present and Future of Aviation.”

Festivities during the two-day event will focus on breaking down barriers for youth to get involved in aviation, help them learn about career opportunities, and celebrate what aviation means to Burlington and the state of Vermont, according to organizers.

“Pride comes to mind when I think about GMA Field Days,” said Vermont Aviators Association President Chris Chicoine. “The Vermont Aviators Association has been diligently working since 2022 to support the Vermont aviation community through events at Rutland Southern Vermont Regional Airport and Franklin Country State Airport. Thanks to the tremendous support of these events, we are inspired to bring the GMA Field Days to Burlington and showcase the Past, Present, and Future of Aviation in Vermont.”

According to organizers, event festivities include the largest hands-on static aircraft display in Vermont history, including BETA Technologies’ ALIA aircraft, plus the new Pipistrel Velis Electro. Additional aircraft include a 1942 Douglas C-53-DO Skytrooper, a 1941 B-25 Mitchell, fighter jets from the past and present, and a host of general aviation aircraft, including single-engine, multi-engine, and jet planes.

Operational missions permitting, the Vermont Air National Guard plans to showcase its F-35 Lightning, UH-60 Black Hawk, and the UH-72 Lakota.

GMA Field Days attendees will be able to experience flight simulators, discover Young Eagles flights for kids ages 7-17 through the local Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) chapter, and more.

Additional event attractions include:

  • The Tuskegee Airmen
  • Commemorative Air Force
  • Women Airforce Service Pilots (WAPS)
  • Drone exhibitions
  • Habitat for Aviation
  • Learn to Fly opportunities through Vermont Flight Academy

GMA Field Days tickets start at $15 and are available for purchase online. With limited space available at Burlington International Airport, and to enhance the hands-on opportunities for attendees, a limited number of tickets will be available, organizers noted.

Hello. Looking forward to this! Do you know which military aircraft will be flying, and when (sptifire, F-35, blackhawk etc)?
    Thanks
