Nominations open for 2025 General Aviation Awards

By General Aviation News Staff · September 6, 2024 · Leave a Comment

Applications and nominations for the 2025 General Aviation Awards are now open.

Submissions will be accepted until Dec. 13, 2024, according to officials with the program.

Established in 1963, the General Aviation Awards (GAA) program recognizes outstanding individuals in the fields of flight instruction, aviation maintenance, and general aviation safety.

“The awards highlight the important leadership roles these individuals play in promoting aviation safety, education, and professionalism,” officials noted.

In a cooperative effort between the GA industry and the FAA, winners are chosen at the district level and nationally each year.

The selection process begins at the Flight Standards District Office (FSDO) level where winners are selected for each district, then on to the national level where an honoree is selected by a panel of judges comprised of individuals who are involved in that specific category, officials explained.

Along with recognition at the national level, winners receive a trip to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, a plaque, and many gifts from industry members and sponsors.
