In late February 2025, members of the South Carolina Breakfast Club flew into Marion County Regional Airport (KMAO) for the first time in 30 years.

The club, which has been visiting South Carolina airports since 1938, had a perfect weather day for the restart of the first scheduled visit to Marion after a three-decade break.

Approximately 25 aircraft and more than 60 individuals turned out for the Feb. 23 pancake and sausage breakfast organized by KMAO Airport Director Charles Taylor and KMAO pilots and friends of the airport. Taylor promised club members the fly-in would become a yearly event on the club schedule.

The Breakfast Club is a South Carolina aviation tradition. Organizers schedule fly-in visits every two weeks to airports all over the state and occasionally into Georgia and North Carolina.

The club’s schedule is available at SouthCarolinaBreakfastClub.com. Upcoming fly-ins in March are at Georgetown County Airport (KGGE) March 17 and Hartsville Regional Airport (KHVS) March 30.

Anyone who attends a breakfast club event is automatically a lifetime member and there are no dues.
