The Pilot’s Manual: Ground School updated

By General Aviation News Staff · April 26, 2025 · 2 Comments

Aviation Supplies & Academics (ASA) has released the latest edition of The Pilot’s Manual: Ground School.

The seventh edition of “The Pilot’s Manual: Ground School” covers all the required knowledge tested on the private and commercial FAA knowledge exams and the oral portion of the practical exam (check ride).

With text supported by more than 800 color illustrations and photos, “students will gain a detailed understanding of complex topics such as airplane and airport operations, regulations, human physiology in flight, chart reading, navigation and airspace, operational weather factors, aircraft performance, flight planning, and more,” ASA officials said.

This book is part of The Pilot’s Manual Series used by universities as their standard classroom texts, ASA officials added.

The companion Private Pilot Syllabus has been updated to reflect the new textbook edition. The new ninth edition provides a “comprehensive and integrated ground and flight training curriculum, effective for both Part 61 and Part 141 programs,” ASA officials said.

The textbook is available as a hardcover book or ebook for $69.95. They are both available in a bundle for $79.95.

The syllabus is available in softcover for $14.95 or as an ebook for free.
