By General Aviation News Staff · May 21, 2025 · Leave a Comment

Aviation Supplies & Academics (ASA) has released the 14th edition of the “Private Pilot Oral Exam Guide” by Jason Blair.

ASA’s Oral Exam Guide Series is arranged in a question-and-answer format, listing the questions most likely to be asked during the practical exam and provides responses.

FAA references and Airman Certification Standard (ACS) codes are provided throughout for further study.

The 14th edition includes more than 900 questions and responses to ensure all the subjects a private pilot candidate will be tested on during a check ride and review flight are covered, including pilot qualifications, preflight/post-flight procedures, airworthiness, aircraft systems, performance and limitations, airspace, airport operations, weather, flight planning, human factors, night operations, emergency equipment, and more.

An Applicant Practical Test Checklist and quick-reference to the Private Pilot maneuvers and tolerances as defined in the Airman Certification Standards are also included.

The guide is available in softcover and as an eBook for $19.95.

ASA’s Private Pilot Checkride App is available for $9.99.
