On April 28, 2025, Carl Reigle continued a proud family tradition, earning his private pilot certificate at Reigle Field (58N) in Palmyra, Pennsylvania.
Carl’s great-grandfather, Charles “Chas” Reigle, founded Reigle Airport in 1942.
His grandfather, Wade, and father, Duane, also earned their certificates at 58N.

Carl, now 26, soloed on his 16th birthday.
“He got busy with school, sports, and then college for finance,” says his dad, Duane. “He got back to really focusing on flying again two years ago.”

Duane notes that CFI Kyle Morton did the bulk of Carl’s private pilot training.
“I soloed him and provided some of his private pilot training,” notes Duane, who has been a CFI since 1984. “His older sister, Tara, also soloed years ago and loves aviation as well.”

While he’s working in finance now, Carl “looks forward to flying for a living in the future,” Duane adds.

“At a young age, he desired to and liked flying very much,” Duane says, adding he especially liked traveling to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, SUN ’n FUN, local air shows, and breakfast fly-ins. “He initially wanted to just fly for fun, but recently decided to pursue it as a profession.”
I live near Reigle Field and have been flying for 60 years, this airport has the same feel as when I started 60 years ago. Most airports today do not have the same ‘seat of your pants’ atmosphere.
