40C slates Independence Day Festival

By General Aviation News Staff · June 25, 2025 · Leave a Comment

Watervliet Municipal Airport (40C) in Michigan is hosting its annual Fly-In July 4-6, 2025, to coincide with the city’s Independence Day festivities.

The weekend kicks off with a carnival and kiddy parade, live music, and more on Friday, July 4.

Saturday opens with a pancake breakfast, followed by a car show, and more attractions. Another pancake breakfast starts off Sunday, organizers said, noting pilots eat free.

Over the year’s the airport’s 2,600-foot grass runway “has hosted a wide variety of aircraft, from homebuilts, taildraggers, vintage classics, and warbirds,” airport officials note.

“Many visitors arrive early, pitch tents beside their planes, and enjoy the natural beauty surrounding the airport,” they continue. “Hiking trails are just steps away and a nearby kayak livery offers trips down the Paw Paw River with convenient drop-off near the airport or city center.”
