Michelin collaborates with Beringer on new general aviation tire

By General Aviation News Staff · September 25, 2025 · Leave a Comment

Michelin has introduced the latest size of its Pilot General Aviation tire, developed in collaboration with Beringer: 11×4.00-5 8/160 PILOT TL.

The new tire size is specifically designed to meet the needs of a large variety of aircraft, including ultralight, light, light sport, and experimental aircraft, according to Frederic Behm, Global Segment Lead, General Aviation, Michelin.

The new tire features durable rubber compounds, configured for more landings and extended tire life while being designed to provide true track taxi, takeoffs, and landings, engineered to ensure smooth and precise handling, according to company officials.

Its tubeless design reduces overall wheel weight and helps eliminate the effect of tire creep on the wheel, officials added.
