PilotWorkshops has introduced a new video course, “Airplane Engine Operations.”
“Getting the most out of an airplane engine is a challenge — whether it’s speed, performance, efficiency or longevity,” company officials note. “You can maximize one aspect, but must accept compromise in others. Managing this balance requires specific knowledge and techniques that are not usually covered in flight training at any level. As a result, many pilots lack proficiency in this important aspect of flying.”
The new course, taught by Ryan Koch, features “proven techniques for getting the most out of your engine during every phase of flight — without risking damage,” officials add.

The techniques covered in the course apply to most Lycoming and Continental engines. Each technique is demonstrated step-by-step with accompanying charts and graphs that further explain the concepts, officials said.
The company is offering $30 off the course’s $129 price as an introductory special.
