Reno racing seminar prepares for takeoff

Every June the Reno Air Races holds its Pylon Racing Seminar, a special training session where pilots prepare, practice and become certified to race in the Reno Air Races in September. The 2022 seminar is shaping up to be one of the biggest in a long time, according to race officials.

Electric-hybrid general aviation plane recharges batteries in flight

Cassio aircraft use electric motors for all-electric power during taxi, takeoff, primary flight, and landing. The hybrid feature with an internal combustion engine comes into play as a range extender, recharging the batteries while in flight, according to company officials. Additionally, this hybrid element serves as a backup in the event of a problem with the electric propulsion, they said.
