Wing fabric from original Wright Flyer donated to Dayton museum

Amanda Wright-Lane and Stephen Wright, the Wright brothers’ great grandniece and nephew, have donated the family’s largest five foot wide sections of the muslin that covered the lower left wing of the 1903 Wright Flyer to Carillon Historical Park.

3,075 airports to receive funding from new infrastructure law

The pre-designed schemes can integrate one base color and up to three accents, in both solids and metallics.

You can still learn something, says Bill McGlynn, president of the Recreational Aviation Foundation, who was one of the panelists on the webinar, along with Mike Patey, and the presidents of the Utah Back Country Pilots Association and the Montana Pilots Association.

Rushed decision to ban 100LL at California airports puts safety at risk

A letter sent to FAA Administrator Stephen Dickson from the leaders of GA’s advocacy groups asks the agency to mitigate a California county’s decision to ban 100LL, noting it will “significantly increase the risk of aircraft misfuelling. “Engine failures from misfuellings often occur at critical phases of flight, such as on takeoff and climb out, and NTSB accident reports document the grim outcomes,” the letter reminds the agency’s chief.

Flight Design’s F2 certified by EASA

The F2-CS23 is the next step in Flight Design’s “Vision Zero” concept, according to company officials. That concept incorporates all commercially available safety features for this type of aircraft, including: A passive stall and spin resistant airframe design, airframe emergency parachute system, AMSAFE airbags and inertial reel harnesses, Garmin ESP (electronic stability and envelope protection), an occupant-protective enclosure for the pilot and passengers, automatic fuel management, simplified controls, such as a combined throttle and brake lever, and a more modern, car-like atmosphere and operation, they explain.
