Hal Roberts submitted this photo and note: “In June 2022 I flew with Kevin D’Angelo in his Shark SeaRey from his home airport in Hamburg, N.Y. The plan was to meet up with several other SeaReys and float planes for some $100 seafood at Galene’s on Conesus Lake in New York’s Finger Lakes. We hadn’t been 10 minutes in the air when Kevin said he was going to get some gas. We dove (literally) down to land on this postage stamp piece of grass behind a Kwik Fill gas station in Strykersville and proceeded to join the cars and fill ‘er up. You can only imagine the stares from the non-flying vehicles.”

Jason Leavitt submitted this photo and note: “My wife, Janet, and I own a 1965 Piper Cherokee 180 (blue and white) and my parents, Jim and Betsy Leavitt, own a 1972 Piper Cherokee 180. One beautiful day in the summer of 2022 we met up at Dean Memorial Airport (5B9) in Haverhill, New Hampshire, to have a picnic lunch. My father has been in aviation my entire life and in 2008 he took on the additional role of my flight instructor. Now since we live in different states, we have found this is a fun way to meet up, visit, and see new sites. As we were both preparing to depart to return to our respective home bases, my wife took this picture of the two planes sitting together.”

David Dickins submitted this photo and note: “The setting sun casts long shadows as our 150 gets topped off at the end of another great flight at Monterey Regional Airport (KMRY) in California. I’m always amazed at how the local FBO cheerfully brings its truck over and puts six gallons or so in our tanks after pumping a few thousand gallons into a Gulfstream or Global Express.”

I arrived in Petersburg at Lloyd R Roundtree Seaplane Facility (63A) in Alaska to pick up a southbound charter passenger for Ketchikan, just as the Scott was departing his own base on a charter elsewhere. Summer time in Southeast Alaska can be a real busy flying time, if the weather cooperates. We are moving around remote lodge guests, US Forest Service rental cabin campers, mining and exploration teams, fishermen, and government personnel, just to name a few. I love the energy of it, and the missions are different every day.”

Flying north from Spirit of St. Louis Airport you cross over the Mississippi River near Grafton, Illinois, and I captured the breaking of a cold winter dawn over the river. The sun breaking through the clouds was spectacular!”
