Pictures of the Day: The show before the show
While EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2022 officially kicked off Monday, July 25, the grounds at Wittman Regional Airport (KOSH) in Wisconsin were buzzing with activity the weekend before. Ace aviation photographer Geremy Kornreich captured these scenes of some of that activity:

Carl Martin submitted this photo and note: “Early arrival to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2022. My RV-7A awaits the arrival of thousands of friends. I fly as advance planner and go-fer for Lone Star Squadron, based in Houston, Texas. If you’ve never attended AirVenture, imagine a family reunion atmosphere with thousands of old and new friends, combining technology and heritage, and millions of flying stories available by just asking your new friend on the tram ride or standing beside that dream aircraft.”
Picture of the Day: Monsoon
Regan Richmond submitted this photo and note: “A monsoon over the dry Southern Utah desert. A daily occurrence this time of year if you can just be in the right spot.”

J.L. Martinez submitted this photo and note: “Maverick has nothing over these two, my grandkids, standing proudly next to our 1968 Cessna 172. We enjoy flying our ‘Stars and Stripes Forever’ over the Midwest.”
Picture of the Day: When you can’t fly…
“Lisa has been dealing with the after-effects of breast cancer since surgery,” Terk explains. “While she’s cancer free…again…we’ve had a bit of down time as a residual of the chemo. During one of our regular Scrabble games, Lisa proposed an aviation challenge game. Any word, phrase, acronym that we both agreed on was game.”

Rusty Eichorn submitted this photo and note: “Sunrise at Northbound Seaplane Base in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. A beautiful summer morning for a flight!”
