Jeff DeFreest submitted this photo and note: “My bride, Kari DeFreest, trusty hound Maggie (Magneto), and I are on a quest to stay at all of the 140 public use cabins on the 17 million acre Tongass National Forest in Southeast Alaska. We use our Skywagon on Edo 2960s to get around this vast area of boreal rainforest and the Inside Passage to get to many fly-in lake cabins. This photo was taken at one of the two amazing USFS cabins on Sitkoh Lake. Maggie enjoys most any outdoor adventure, but is also very attuned to the stealthy approach of brown bears.”

Steve Davis submitted this photo and note: “My beautiful CH750 STOL after landing in the sage. The Thunderbolt IO233 sheared a piston rod, which destroyed the engine…after 285 hrs. No damage to the 750 after the dead stick landing, but got a few minor scratches after trailering it out of the desert. Seven more flight minutes and we would have been over the tall Oregon fir and pines, and the outcome would have been different. Tough little plane!
