Gerald Oliver submitted this photo and note: “We just happened to catch this Yak on takeoff from the Eagles Nest Airport (T56) in Midlothian, Texas, as the Historic Aircraft Preservation Society’s 1931 Fleet Model 8 (the last one flying), 1942 J-3 Cub, and a 1965 Ford Mustang sit nicely on a grassy patch.”

Jeremy Lezin submitted this photo and note: “I often fly my Carbon Cub SS out over the Monterey Bay, looking for whale activity. I count myself lucky if I find a single whale or a small pod. On this day I flew over half a dozen whales working with a raft of sea lions. The whales would dive down, blow bubbles, and then chase schools of fish to the surface.”

I heard a friend of mine taking off in his 1964 Beech H18 and called him to see if I could join up. I found him about 15 miles west of KSSI motoring along at 1,500 feet. Pure nostalgia.”
