Jim Stack submitted this photo and note: “For 26 years we flew from Arlington Municipal Airport (KAWO) in Washington to Pine Hollow Airport (32OR) in Wamic, Oregon, on the southeast side of Mt. Hood. Took this photo on the way down one day and didn’t realize I captured Mt. St. Helens not only out the window but also reflected under the wing of my 1958 Cessna 175.”

Tickets now on sale now for first air races in Roswell

The races, slated for Sept. 10-14, will feature seven classes of racing, as well as several hands-on displays and experiences including the STEM Education Discovery Zone, heritage displays, military demonstrations, static displays, and more, according to race officials. The event will also mark the fourth year of competition for STOL Drag, officials added.

Failure to ensure proper fuel selector position fatal for pilot

Probable Cause: The pilot’s failure to ensure a proper fuel selector position before takeoff, which resulted in a loss of left engine power due to fuel starvation. Contributing to the accident was the pilot’s failure to maintain airplane control after the loss of left engine power.

Homeschool aviation program takes off at KAPA

A Colorado homeschool program’s aviation program has been recognized by Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, which has partnered with the program. The two are working together to promote aviation and offer flight training to homeschooled high school students.
