What reportedly happened: The pilot told investigators that he had a headache and felt feverish while on final approach to land, then reported he lost consciousness, possibly due to dehydration and illness. He awakened when he landed hard, and then radioed for assistance.
Probable cause: The pilot’s loss of consciousness while on final approach to land, resulting in an uncontrolled descent, and a hard landing on the runway.
