Woman wins ride in Horseman P-51

By Janice Wood · December 17, 2009 ·

Air Show Buzz (ASB) has named Pennsylvania native Pamela Pfeninger the winner of its Horseman Flight Team Sweepstakes. She will embark on the opportunity of a lifetime – a ride in a WWII P-51 Mustang with The Horsemen Flight Team, a marquee acrobatic fleet. She was selected from more than 1,600 people who entered the drawing at ASB.tv, which celebrated the premier this summer of the its new TV show “The Horsemen Cometh.”

“The Horsemen Cometh,” starring three air show pilots (and ASB partners) Jim Beasley, Dan Friedkin and Ed Shipley, is a series that uses the backdrop of low level formation acro to capture the essence of air show flying.

“We are thrilled to have been able to provide the opportunity for Ms. Pfeninger to experience first-hand the thrill of riding in a plane like the P-51 Mustang,” stated Shipley, founder of Air Show Buzz. “With the number of entries we received for this sweepstakes, it is apparent that there is a consumer demand for a community that connects a worldwide shared passion for flight.”

“I have always had a passion for aviation and as a mother of three this truly is the opportunity of a lifetime for me,” said Pfeninger. “I am so thankful to Air Show Buzz for providing me what I’m sure will be an unforgettable adventure — flying in such an amazing aircraft, away from all the stresses a mother such as myself experiences.”

Pfeninger is scheduled to take flight with The Horsemen Flight Team in a World War II P-51 Mustang in early 2010.
