Flyvie records historic cross-country flight

By Janice Wood · April 19, 2010 ·

“Hope One” and Michael Combs took off last week for 40 flight days across 50 states as part of the Flight for the Human Spirit. On board Combs’ Remos LSA is the Flyvie Pro Recorder, which records the flight with two video cameras, audio and GPS, all to a personal SD memory card. The Flyvie Viewer enables a replay of the flight experience through a web service on top of Google Earth.

“I have experienced Flyvie as a multi-faceted recording device which I can see being used for many different types of flights — from adventurous cross-country flights to casual day trips with family and friends,” said Combs. “This is a once in a lifetime experience and documenting this journey with Flyvie is a perfect match for this mission. It will enable me to review and re-experience my flights and share the excitement of flight with all of our fans who are following and supporting this flight.”

You can follow Combs’ flight at FlightHS.com or Flyvie.com.
