Aviator networking site launches

By Janice Wood · March 29, 2011 ·

ATN Publishing and Westfield Flight Academy have launched a new website that provides aviators a platform to network with people in the aviation industry, as well as be an outlet for safety, scholarships, and education.

The FabulousFlying.com creators wanted to create a vehicle where folks interested in flying could not only share their airborne memories, their photos and their videos, but could find each other when flying to different destinations. The site can redirect visitors to popular flight planning and weather sites, and will eventually offer a dating club specifically for those involved in aviation. In addition, the developers say they are currently undergoing FAA approval for an online resource management program.

The site was founded by Nina Anderson, a retired corporate pilot and FAAST team representative; the owners of Westfield Flight Academy, Steve Hayden, an airline pilot, and Michael Foy, an aviation attorney and FAAST team representative; and webmaster James Galbraith, a private pilot. The official launch will be this Thursday at SUN ’n FUN during the 9 a.m. forum, “What If? Scary Things That Happen in Airplanes and Why.”

FabulousFlying.com is not just for pilots. Flight attendants, ground personnel, mechanics and “armchair” flyers will also find the website fun and beneficial, developers say.

I am looking for other planes who might be flying to the Bahamas in the next week or so. Wish to fly with another couple of planes.
