Landmark names Halasz GM at RDU

By Janice Wood · April 21, 2011 ·

Landmark has named Russell Halasz general manager at its Raleigh-Durham location.

Halasz has been at the Raleigh/Durham International Airport since 1995 when he began as a baggage handler with Raleigh Flying Services for TWA, Northwest and Continental. In 2003, in addition to becoming a multi engine-commercial-instrument-rated pilot, he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Science and a minor in Aviation Weather from Embry-Riddle University.

“I returned to Raleigh for a line job with Landmark while I worked on my CFI,” Halasz explained. “However, I enjoyed my job so much that I began focusing more on learning the intricacies of the FBO business and less on flying.”

Halasz joined Landmark Aviation as a Line Service Technician in May of 2003 and within two years he had worked his way up to Operations Manager. In 2008 he was promoted to Assistant Manager.

“Russell brings strong leadership to the team, and with over eight years of experience at Landmark is more than capable of handling the demands and pressures that a fast-paced base such as RDU requires,” Regional Vice President Jim McNeill said.

Headquartered in Houston, Texas, Landmark Aviation operates a network of FBOs throughout the U.S., and in Canada and Western Europe. For more information: LandmarkAviation.com
