Opportunities to expand the economy of the White Plains, New York, area thanks to business aviation activity at Westchester County Airport, already estimated at more than $613 million annually for employment alone, will frame discussions at a June 8 National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) daylong regional event.
The NBAA Business Aviation Regional Forum at White Plains, which will be held at Panorama Flight Service at Westchester County Airport (HPN), is expected to draw more than 1,200 attendees to hear updates from industry leaders, participate in discussions about important topics, and conduct business at a regional exhibition of the latest equipment and services for business aviation owners and operators. The Westchester Aviation Association is an active supporter of the upcoming White Plains event.
Exhibit space will feature more than 90 indoor exhibitors and approximately 30+ aircraft on an expanded Static Display. Exhibit areas and Static Display will remain open until 4 p.m.

9:30 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. Aircraft Transactions in an Evolving Market: Steps for Success: Experts will discuss whether the business aircraft market is still in recovery mode, what can be done to ensure a successful aircraft transaction, the current status and future forecasts for the business aircraft market, the latest tax changes and more
11 am – 11:45 am General Session: Challenges and Opportunities for Business Aviation: NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen will discuss the vital role business aviation plays in the lives of citizens, companies and communities across the U.S., and cover some of the major issues facing the industry as the economy revives.
12 pm – 1:15 pm New York Airspace Review: Learn about the New York Airspace from FTAA ATC traffic managers with New York Center, New York TRACON and the area control towers. Topics will include the Tactical Route Coordinator position at New York TRACON, common Traffic Management Initiatives used in the airspace and the upcoming changes associated with the New York airspace redesign.
2:30 pm – 3:15 pm Best Practices for Transitioning from Paper to Digital Charts: The switch to digital charting is moving full speed ahead. Today, operators have an ever increasing array of hardware and software options to make the transition. During this session, attendees will learn how to understand the FAA regulations pertaining to the use of digital charts, select a digital charting solution that best complements an aircraft’s avionics, and safely make the transition to a paperless environment on the flight deck.
2:30 pm – 3:15 pm Tire Safety Update: Recent alerts from the FAA and NTSB have highlighted the serious dangers of under inflated aircraft tires. During this session, attendees will learn to conduct preflight inspections to verify correct tire pressures, understand the specific roles that pilots and maintenance personnel should play in tire inspections and more.
