Olivehurst, Calif. — The theme of the June 8-10 Golden West Regional Fly-In & Airshow at Yuba County Airport (MYV) is, “Keeping the Spirit Alive – Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the Marysville Army Airfield.” The 70th Anniversary of Camp Beale and the Doolittle Raid will also be recognized. Pilots of all types of aircraft from Light Sport to our Military Jets are expected to participate. According to Golden West President Amy Clemens, “The event is as much about the aircraft as it is about friends coming together to renew acquaintances and to make new ones.”
The fly-in will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. all three days and feature a daily pancake breakfast, airshow, forums and workshops. The Golden West Aero Mall will have exhibits by manufacturers of the latest aircraft, avionics and pilot supplies. Naval Air Station Lemoore will conduct an FA-18 Super Hornet Tactical Demonstration each day. The Kid Qwest hangar will provide aviation-related hands on activities for kids of all ages and the Young Eagles program will be scheduling flights for kids ages 8-17.
Returning for its 2nd year, a competition Barbeque Cook-off will be held Sunday morning with judging to begin just before the airshow. For more information and to purchase tickets online, visit our website at www.goldenwestflyin.org .
