Pilot Mall to raffle off headset at AOPA Summit

By Janice Wood · September 25, 2012 ·

PilotMall.com will award a Sennheiser S1 Digital ANR headset to someone at the 2012 AOPA Aviation Summit in Palm Springs Oct. 11-13.

From AOPA Booth 801, Pilot Mall will be talking with, not “selling,” pilots and asking them about their pilot supply needs and interests, according to company officials. The most popular Pilot Mall items from its web-based catalog will be on display, officials add.

“We’re a small company, certainly not the Big Gun in our business,” said Pilot Mall President Neil Glazer, “but in many ways, we’ve innovated in today’s methods of delivering what pilots want through Internet commerce. Now, beginning with the West Coast, this is just our chance to interact ‘off-line and in-person’ with the pilot community.”

Each visitor will have one chance to win gift certificates, multi-tools and other merchandise, including a grand prize Sennheiser S1 Digital ANR headset with Bluetooth phone and music connectivity that’s valued at $1,095. No purchase is necessary.

PilotMall.com acquired Internet-sales pioneer AvShop and competitor iPilot as part of its continuing growth. It now offers 5,000 items “from the traditional to the innovative” for the appreciation, maintenance and operation of aircraft.

Based in the Tampa Bay area of Florida, Pilot Mall has been the official retail merchandiser for the annual SUN ‘n FUN Fly-In each spring since 2009. The company turned the original SUN ‘n FUN gift shop into its new, permanent “aviation superstore.” The store operates throughout the year during fly-in events at Lakeland-Linder Airport as SUN ‘n FUN expands its activities to a year-‘round schedule.

The company maintains its first warehouse outlet store at historic Albert Whitted Airport in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Glazer is an instrument- and multi-rated Commercial pilot and Mooney Ovation owner who completed his pilot training at Mazzei Flying Service, Fresno-Yosemite International Airport, California. He is a force behind the new East Coast flying event, the Bahamas Pilot Challenge, that will include free hotel nights in the Bahamas awarded to lucky pilots among those who complete the 2012-2013 Bahamas Pilot Challenge.
