CAPS expands cabin safety solutions

By Janice Wood · October 28, 2012 ·

VAN NUYS, Calif. — Corporate Air Parts, Inc. and CAPS Flight Crew TRAINING has signed a distributor agreement with Philips Medical products for the sale and service of all HeartStart AEDs and accessories.

The agreement also deepens the capabilities within existing training programs including, FAR 135.331 Emergency Crewmember training, Hypoxia Recognition & Recovery (USN ROBD2), and Cabin Service and AED/CPR/First Aid training, according to company officials.

For your aircraft, your hangar, or your home, HeartStart AEDs are specifically designed for the lay (trained or untrained) responder, providing clear and easy-to-follow instructions, company officials said. The units employ a series of comprehensive self-tests to ensure readiness, utilizing a visible status indicator to show when the device is ready for use. An algorithm determines whether the patient requires a shock, and the current is only delivered if needed, officials said.

Since 1983, Corporate Air Parts has been providing services for the business aircraft community. By focusing strictly on the business aircraft and general aviation communities, CAPS has expanded services well beyond the sales of products to include FAA Repair Station services, tools calibration, and the sales, service and training of cabins safety and life support equipment.
