Jeppesen has teamed with Peters Software, a provider of training and test preparation software programs for EASA private and commercial pilot license preparation, to provide private pilot training courseware and materials in Europe.
The Jeppesen EASA Private Pilot training system uses pictures, photo graphics and QR codes to access film and audio clips. Teaming with Peters Software allows for Jeppesen training materials to be continuously updated, using state of the art database technology, Jeppesen officials said. This process allows for updates to be delivered more efficiently and training programs to remain current with regulatory private pilot guidance.
The Jeppesen and Peters Software private pilot training program is available for use with various platforms, including e-books, PC and Macintosh computers and printed versions. Printed books also are produced on-demand, featuring up-to-date training program information, which eliminates bulk quantity material orders that could quickly become obsolete, Jeppesen officials said.
The Jeppesen EASA Private Pilot training system contains nearly 1,300 pages, organized in nine volumes in the paper version and 13 e-books. An accompanying exam preparation question database for iPad is also planned to be available as an iTunes app.
