Searey introduces frise aileron

By General Aviation News Staff · July 23, 2014 ·

TAVARES, Florida — Progressive Aerodyne, manufacturer of Searey Light Sport amphibious airplanes, has developed a new Frise aileron for all new factory-built Searey Elite and Searey Sport model airplanes.

The new aileron, developed by Progressive Aerodyne engineers, is a milestone improvement in Searey flight control, according to company officials.

The new aileron provides Searey airplanes with more balance and responsive control, especially in severe conditions and wind gusts, officials explained.

Progressive Aerodyne conducted static load and flight testing on the new aileron, and the results well exceeded design standards and expectations, company officials said.

Progressive Aerodyne’s manufacturing facility is currently in full production of two certified models of the Searey, the Searey Light Sport and the Searey Light Sport Elite. In addition, the company continues to manufacture Searey kit airplanes.
