Airforms awarded new FAA PMA approval for Cessna tie-down trim plates

By General Aviation News Staff · September 23, 2014 ·

BIG LAKE, ALASKA – On the heels of the announcement of PMA approval for the Caravan Crew Door Panels, Airforms, Inc. has received yet another PMA approval to support the world-wide fleet of Caravan family aircraft. Airforms Part Number AF2615118-1 recently gained FAA PMA approval as a direct, drop-in replacement for Cessna P/N 2615118-1. The Airforms Trim Plates are eligible for installation on all Cessna model 208/208B aircraft (passenger aircraft only).

airformsKnowing that the OEM Trim Plates have a propensity for cracking and shattering – particularly when impacted at low temperatures – we wanted to provide a component that could withstand the harsh cargo environment faced by air carriers, and still retain the great aesthetic appeal for an executive cabin,” said Airforms Chief Engineer & FAA DER Kyle Taylor. “By designing the trim plate to be manufactured out of aluminum instead of the original plastic, we created a part that can stand up to the daily pounding in extreme work environments, while the durable powder coating retains the great interior fit and finish one would expect in a luxury aircraft.”

Airforms is a supplier of replacement engine baffles for a wide range of general aviation aircraft; products also include an expanding line of turboprop aircraft PMA parts, STCs, and hard to source parts for fleet operators. Airforms maintains an FAA approved manufacturing system for PMA parts, supported by an engineering department with FAA DER staff engineers.
