BIG LAKE, Alaska — Airforms has received FAA/PMA approval for Cessna replacement axles made entirely of titanium.
This is a result of a collaborative effort between Airforms and the Landing Gear Works, producers of titanium Cessna landing gear. The owners of both companies are old friends who have had some good flying adventures together in the past, company officials note.
Airforms has long been producing steel axles that replace both the original steel and the less strong aluminum axles that were supplied on Cessna aircraft.
Both the steel and the titanium axles are eligible for installation on C170, 180, 182, 185, and 206 aircraft with flat spring landing gear. Future approval is planned for C172s and L-19s, company officials added.
You go Lee! Congrats on another great product from Airforms!
