Poking around our media vault this weekend and found this 24-second gem of Palmer, Alaska’s Frank Knapp at the 2014 Valdez Fly-In & Airshow.
Who needs an aircraft carrier when you can take-off in 41-feet and land in 35-feet. The 2015 edition is set for May 9-10.
For sure there wouldn’t be any need for a steam catapult system for launching it nor a water squeeze cable arresting gear system for landing it on whatever sea vessel was used. By the looks of it, the airplane might be able to launch from and land on a helo pad especially with some WOD (wind over the deck).
