Electroair adds Lycoming 540-series approval

By General Aviation News Staff · July 29, 2016 ·

Electroair has received approval for the 6-cylinder Mag Timing Housing (MTH) to be used on Lycoming 540 O and IO applications.

The MTH replaces the impulse coupled magneto on the 540 engines and makes installation easier than using the previously approved Crank Sensor Trigger Wheel (CSTW), company officials noted.

For the CSTW installation on a Lycoming engine, the propeller is required to be removed to get access to the crankshaft. Now, with the MTH, the prop does not need to be removed.

And with a 2,400 hour TBO, the MTH will outlast any magneto.
