EPIC Fuels, a fuel supplier in the general and commercial aviation industries, is now a sponsor of professional aerobatic pilot and competitive air race pilot Anthony Oshinuga as he prepares to compete in the 2016 Reno Air Races and at the U.S. National Aerobatic Competition in Sherman, Texas.
Oshinuga, based out of The Jet Center, an EPIC Fuels FBO, at French Valley Airport in Murrieta, California, flies a custom Pitts Special S-1S light aerobatic biplane dubbed “Black Hawk” for races and aerobatic competitions.
In 2015, he competed at the Reno National Championship Air Race as a rookie and placed second overall in the Biplane category.
He has also racked up impressive scores in aerobatic competitions, including placing fourth in his category at the 2014 US National Aerobatic Competition, according to EPIC Fuels officials.
“A fierce competitor with a passion for aviation, Oshinuga exhibits great discipline and dedication in his sport,” EPIC Fuels officials said in a prepared release. “Those traits, combined with the fact that his training and competitions require countless hours of flying and visits to many fixed-base operations (FBOs) around the country, make Oshinuga an excellent ambassador for both EPIC Fuels and the EPIC Card.
Congratulations to both. For some years I was with the airport authority, in part handling RARA’s leases and contracts. The Air Races were certainly the main event, but “rookie school” grew over time.
Best wishes and safe flying!
Thanks for the note Maria! I plan to fly hard and fast in 2017!
