6 bad habits to avoid as a student pilot

By General Aviation News Staff · November 28, 2019 ·

JC Mayerle, writing in Sporty’s Student Pilot News, recently posted six bad habits student pilots should avoid:

  1. Don’t be late for your lessons.
  2. Don’t go broke.
  3. Don’t go it alone.
  4. Don’t lose sight of the fun.
  5. Don’t get discouraged.
  6. Don’t rely on YouTube.

Check it out yourself here, then post below if you think there are other bad habits that didn’t make the list.

You are missing, and this first one should be first:

    1. Do Not Rush (it is not a race…saving money cutting corners leaves you vulnerable)
    2. Learn, Not Just Memorize (rote memory will fade, full learning will last a lifetime)
    3. Inside Cockpit Head-Bound (everyone gets this, students especially)
    4. Take Charge But Ask Questions (be responsible for your learning, use the CFI like a Google search)
