When 13-year-old James Garvin was assigned to do an independent research project on the subject of his choice, he knew exactly what his subject would be: Flying.
A seventh grader in his school’s Gifted program, James has been flying with his grandfather Jerry Cornwell since he was 3 years old, first in the back seat of an RV-8 and now in Jerry’s Bearhawk.
James has got 50 hours flying, accumulating 40 takeoffs and landings unassisted, Jerry reports.

The video has a brief lesson from James, then a flight on his simulator, wrapping up with a clip from a flight in the Bearhawk.
Jerry proudly reports that James earned an A on his report. Check it out and you’ll see why.

Great job James!
Amazing young man. You have a great future ahead of you in aviation. Keep up the good work James!
This was a class project meant to be a brief demonstration of flight. It was not intended to be a full private pilot lesson. Such a lesson as you seem to want would take two hours.
OK, attending the age of James. But there where innumerous lacks of procedures in the posted video, specially concerning aircraft procedures. Being so, I’ll not post such a video as a demonstration of my habilitations to fly, even considering he is using a SIM.
This was a class project that has only nine minutes to give a brief demonstration of flight. It was not meant to be a full lesson for a private pilot student. A lesson such as you seem to want would take two hours.
