FAA administrator to address NBAA virtual Town Hall

By General Aviation News Staff · July 30, 2020 ·

FAA Administrator Steve Dickson will participate in a Virtual Business Aviation Town Hall at 1 p.m. (EDT) Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2020, hosted by the National Business Aviation Association.

Dickson will join NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen in discussing operational and safety issues important to the general aviation community, including the latest information about extensions to general aviation pilot medicals and other requirements granted under Special Federal Aviation Regulation (SFAR) 118. The forum will also cover the agency’s recent notice of proposed rulemaking affecting the pilot records database.

The webinar is free and open to all pilots and aviation enthusiasts.

Other topics expected to be discussed during the Town Hall include ongoing efforts to bolster the nation’s aviation workforce; the continued transition to the Next Generation air traffic control system; the integration of Advanced Air Mobility vehicles and other technologies into the national airspace; ongoing government-industry efforts to build upon the industry’s safety record; and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the aviation industry.

The hour-long online town hall event will include time for audience questions, NBAA officials noted.

You can register for the Virtual Town Hall here.
