Video: A look into the future

By General Aviation News Staff · March 16, 2021 ·

The non-profit Ohio Air & Space Hall of Fame and Museum (OAS) recently posted a video to YouTube that uses photos from the past, video from today, and animation to show what the original 1929 Port Columbus Air Terminal will look like once it has been transformed into the museum’s interactive exhibit hall, learning center, and event space.

The OAS has signed a long-term lease with the Columbus Regional Airport Authority, having earlier received a State of Ohio grant of $550,000 as the cornerstone funding of its multi-million dollar project.

And in early March 2021, the OAS announced a partnership with The Ohio State Center for Aviation Studies to co-develop AvSTEAM curricula aimed at high school students.

Once complete it will be on my bucket list. I have gone to the Kansas Aviation Museum in Wichita and they have a similar set up at the original terminal building. I can’t think of a better place to have a museum than in a historic air terminal. Wish you the best and look forward to seeing it when finished.
