Picture of the Day: When you can’t fly…

By General Aviation News Staff · July 17, 2022 ·

Terk and Lisa Williams submitted this photo, which they admit is a bit different than most Pictures of the Day.

“Lisa has been dealing with the after-effects of breast cancer since surgery,” Terk explains. “While she’s cancer free…again…we’ve had a bit of down time as a residual of the chemo. During one of our regular Scrabble games, Lisa proposed an aviation challenge game. Any word, phrase, acronym that we both agreed on was game.”

“Every word or play was done legitimately with letters as drawn,” he continued. “Yes, there should be an ‘F’ in FIRZ in the upper left corner. The KR refers to our 1929 KR34C awaiting time and space to restore it.

“Oh, every tile was used. That we do often. This game was a 300 point tie,” he added.

What a creative take on Scrabble, a classic game good for the mind.

Lisa, wish you all good in your recovery, that you fly through this turbulence to a safe landing!
