Video: WWII ace’s promotion to brigadier general

By General Aviation News Staff · December 19, 2022 ·

Of Wings & Things columnist Frederick A. Johnsen, who is also the force behind the Airailimages YouTube channel, recently posted a video of the honorary promotion to brigadier general of Bud Anderson, World War II fighter ace and postwar test pilot. The ceremony was conducted at the Aerospace Museum of California on the former McClellan Air Force Base near Sacramento.

The video includes several speeches, as well as the official swearing in and the presentation of his personal colors, a general’s flag that symbolizes leadership. His remarks begin around the 31-minute mark.
