STOL capabilities mean more people can operate from their own airstrips on a few acres. This is often overlooked. Government-owned airports have become very expensive due to the high cost of hangar rental and avgas. Few carry mogas though many homebuilts can use it. Airports are more focused on bizjets and government grants, are doing away with grass runways and are becoming hostile to sport aviation. Many do not permit any aircraft construction or storage of fuel in rental hangars, and few allow private individuals to build and own their own hangars. A pole barn sufficient for a small aircraft costs little, comes in a kit and can be built on a weekend. Congratulations Zenith!
