GA survey launches

By General Aviation News Staff · February 18, 2025 · 2 Comments

The FAA’s 47th annual General Aviation and Part 135 Activity Survey has launched, with the agency asking aircraft owners to share the number of hours flown in 2024, as well as the ways people use general aviation aircraft.

According to FAA officials, information gathered during the survey enables the agency to monitor the general aviation fleet so that it can:

  • Anticipate and meet demand for National Airspace System facilities and services
  • Evaluate the impact of safety initiatives and regulatory changes
  • Build more accurate measures of the safety of the general aviation community

“The data collected are also used by other government agencies, the general aviation industry, trade associations, and private businesses to pinpoint safety problems and to form the basis for critical research and analysis of general aviation issues,” FAA officials added.

To fill out the survey, you can go online to the AviationSurvey.org website. Some GA aircraft owners will receive a survey in the mail. FAA officials ask that if you do get a survey in the mail please fill it out so that “all aviation activity is represented.”

This is not an anonymous survey , requiring an ‘N’ number.
The questions are very detail on the use of the aircraft.
So, sorry, the FAA doesn’t need to know what I do with my aircraft .

Autos and boats are not tracked as the FAA wants.
