Yes and No. They were built as A-26’s as Susan point out. And retired as B-26’s.

USAF after retiring the B-26 Marauder, decided to rename the A-26 to the B-26 Invader. The Douglas A-26 Invader was designated B-26 between 1948 and 1965.

That’s Million Airess! It’s a Douglas A26 C Invader. What a great restoration! I saw her on static display at the NBAA Northeast Regional Forum @ HPN, White Plains, NY. I believe it is with the Viet Nam War Museum in Houston. The FBO, Million Air, sponsored its journey commemorating the 80th Anniversary of D-Day in Europe, flying to England and then to Normandy, before appearing at airshows, while there. Aesome photo!

The A 26 C was a light bomber/ground attack aircraft, made by Douglas. It could carry many bombs, and when fitted be used for ground attack. The Martin B26 Marauder is really not related and was retired before the designation A26 was used. The Invader was retired in the 1960’s. They both look very cool.
