They are not blimps, but rigid airships built by Zeppelin of Friedrichshafen, Germany.
That is true, but Goodyear still refers to everything associated with their airship flight operations using “Blimp”, including the name of their Carson CA “Home of the Goodyear Blimp” …64CL “Goodyear Blimp Base”.
Guess they like the brand recognition.
