FlightSense Launches Version 2.0

By General Aviation News Staff · January 9, 2026 · Leave a Comment

FlightSense, an AI-powered flight training recordkeeping platform, has released Version 2.0, which introduces Part 141 compliance support designed to modernize how flight schools manage training records, track student progress, and maintain FAA documentation.

The release addresses a challenge in aviation training, according to company officials, who note that flight schools operating under FAR Part 141 have long relied on fragmented systems — paper binders, spreadsheets, and disconnected software — to manage the recordkeeping requirements mandated by the FAA. Version 2.0 replaces this patchwork approach with a unified digital platform that embeds compliance directly into daily training workflows, company officials said.

“Flight training runs on records, yet the industry has been slow to adopt modern tools for managing them,” said Taylor Horsager, CEO and Founder of FlightSense.

“Version 2.0 gives flight schools a connected platform for FAA-aligned recordkeeping without disrupting how training actually works.”

Version 2.0 includes:

  • Digital records aligned to 14 CFR Part 141.101 recordkeeping requirements
  • Tracking of lessons, stage checks, endorsements, and training milestones
  • Digital signatures
  • PDF export for student compliance records
  • Automated enrollment and graduation certificate generation with chief instructor sign-off
  • Transfer credit management for students with prior training
  • Training trend reports and student risk indicators
  • Organization-wide analytics for monitoring instructional consistency and quality

To adopt FlightSense schools need to submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) to their Principal Operations Inspector (POI) notifying them of plans to use FlightSense for Part 141 recordkeeping. Upon review, the POI issues a Letter of Authorization (LOA) formally accepting the system. Most schools will not need to amend their Training Course Outline to implement FlightSense, company officials added.
