iFlightPlanner Unveils Rebuilt Digital Logbook with Seamless ForeFlight Import

By General Aviation News Staff · January 21, 2026 · Leave a Comment

iFlightPlanner has released a new digital logbook, “purpose-built to serve pilots from first flight through professional operations,” according to officials with the Ann Arbor, Michigan-based company.

As many pilots reassess their current logbook and EFB solutions, iFlightPlanner’s updated logbook addresses two of the most common barriers to change: Inflexible logbook structures and locked-in historical data, company officials noted.

“We know pilots are becoming increasingly frustrated by the rising cost and complexity of other well-known platforms,” said Andy Matthews, Co-Founder and Director of Business Development at iFlightPlanner. “But even when they’re ready for an alternative, switching feels risky because all of their historical data lives in one proprietary format. We rebuilt our logbook to support everyone from student pilots to professionals, and we’re the first flight planning platform to offer our members a true one-to-one ForeFlight logbook import. That removes a major obstacle and gives pilots confidence to make the move.”

Available now to iFlightPlanner Premium members, the redesigned logbook allows pilots to select exactly which fields appear, tailoring the logbook to their specific flying experience and eliminating irrelevant columns that add noise and confusion, according to company officials.

Pilots can also export their data at any time, ensuring they remain in control of their logbook, today and in the future.

To make switching EFBs easier, iFlightPlanner Premium members can import their ForeFlight logbook using a direct, field-matched process.

“One of the most impressive parts of the experience was how clean the import was,” said a pilot who recently completed the process. “After seeing the recent discussions in pilot forums about how difficult logbook imports can be, I was pleasantly surprised. With iFlightPlanner, everything landed exactly where it should.”

The iFlightPlanner logbook is available on the web, iPad, and iPhone. While there is no native Android app, the iFlightPlanner web platform is responsive to any web browser, and Android users are supported through the company’s Bring Your Own EFB (BYOEFB) program, allowing pilots to use iFlightPlanner alongside their preferred apps and devices, company officials noted.

The enhanced logbook is included with iFlightPlanner Premium, priced at $99.99 annually.
