Hobbs Flyer Introduces USB-Powered LEMO to GA Adapter

By General Aviation News Staff · January 29, 2026 · 1 Comment

Hobbs Flyer has introduced a USB-powered LEMO to GA Twin Plug Adapter that allows pilots to use 6-pin LEMO aviation headsets in aircraft equipped with standard general aviation twin plug intercoms while powering the headset from any USB port in the aircraft.

Developed in response to pilot demand, the adapter converts a panel-powered-style 6-pin LEMO headset to conventional PJ-055 and PJ-068 plugs. It features an integrated USB-C power interface that supplies consistent power for active noise reduction (ANR) and Bluetooth functions without relying on batteries, according to company officials.

The adapter is compatible with a wide range of headsets, including Bose A20, A30, ProFlight, and AHX models, as well as Lightspeed Zulu and Delta Zulu, and David Clark One-XP, Pro-X, and Jet-X headsets equipped with 6-pin LEMO connectors.

The USB-Powered LEMO to GA Twin Plug Adapter is available now for $69.95.

This is a fantastic solution to a very specific pain point! I’ve often wondered how pilots with newer LEMO headsets manage in older cockpits. Having the USB power source is clever, as it utilizes existing infrastructure rather than relying on complex panel modifications. I wonder how reliable the USB power delivery is under fluctuating aircraft power?
