Garmin Expands to KIWA

By General Aviation News Staff · February 14, 2026 · Leave a Comment

Garmin has opened a new facility at Mesa Gateway Airport (KIWA) in Arizona.

The new facility, designed to expand capacity for the company’s aircraft certification and flight test organizations, includes 75,000 square feet of hangar space and office space that can accommodate approximately 75 employees, according to Garmin officials.

The airport has three parallel runways, two of which are over 10,000 feet in length, they added.

“This overall infrastructure, along with generally clear weather throughout the year, provides an ideal flight operations setting,” Garmin officials said.

The Mesa location joins Garmin’s two existing flight operations centers in New Century, Kansas, and Salem, Oregon.

The Phoenix area has served as a Garmin engineering hub for more than 25 years, initially with a facility in Tempe that later moved to Chandler. Garmin further expanded its Arizona footprint to Scottsdale after acquiring AeroData in 2019.
