New Novato Sunglasses Feature FAA-Approved Lenses for Pilots

By General Aviation News Staff · March 26, 2026 · Leave a Comment

GUNNAR Optiks has introduced Novato, the newest member of its Titanium Collection of glasses, which features an aviator-inspired design.

Made from ultra-lightweight titanium with flexible spring hinges, Novato features adjustable nose pads, sculpted temples, and acetate temple tips, according to company officials.

For pilots and aviation professionals, the sunglass lens tint options are FAA-approved and non-polarized, providing clear visibility of cockpit instruments and digital displays while reducing glare, company officials add.

The lenses also feature GUNNAR’s patented blue light–blocking technology to combat digital eye strain during marathon screen or flight sessions. G-Shield coatings resist smudges, scratches, and glare, officials noted.

Each pair of Novato ships with a clamshell case, microfiber pouch, cleaning cloth, and a 24-month warranty.

Price: $130 (Amber Lens), $165 (Amber-Max Lens).
