The Short Wing Piper Club (SWPC) will hold its 2026 annual convention June 22-26 at Greeley-Weld County Airport (KGXY) in Colorado, featuring an expanded schedule of aviation activities, educational sessions, and social events.
Attractions include warbird rides from the Commemorative Air Force, a mountain flying adventure, and the Artful Air Rodeo skills event. Attendees may also participate in Aims Community College Flight Training, ATC, and simulator tours, and a tour of Univair Aircraft Corporation and BAS Parts Sales.
Off-airport excursions include a trip to the Forney Museum of Transportation, attendance at a Colorado Rockies game, and transportation to the Greeley Stampede Xtreme Bull Riding event.
Scheduled activities begin Monday with a meet-and-greet mixer. Tuesday features the membership meeting and storytelling workshop, followed by a guided wine tasting. Wednesday events include the Air Rodeo, community BBQ, and evening Stampede outing. Thursday programming includes mountain flying, tours, and a banquet dinner.
The banquet will feature keynote speaker Michael Maya Charles blending story, reflection, and practical insight, according to organizers.
Organizers report an emphasis on expanding both participation opportunities and an enhanced lineup of presentations and door prizes from sponsors including Univair Aircraft Corporation, MyGoFlight, SureFly Electronic Ignition, BAS Parts Sales, Captains Table, Spyderco Knives, Aims Community College, and EarthX.
